Project type: Video
This project is a 1-minute overview video of the mission, history, and initiatives of Health Equity Solutions. Health Equity Solutions (HES) is a Hartford-based nonprofit that seeks to advance health justice in Connecticut by challenging systems of racism and economic injustice and advocating for community-supported health policy. As part of the Community Action Gateway, we collaborated with Samantha Lew from Health Equity Solutions to learn more about HES’ vision for the video. Then, we conducted interviews with HES staff, community partners, and board members. Once we conducted interviews, we drafted a 1-minute video, and then engaged in several rounds of feedback sessions with both Health Equity Solutions and Community Action Gateway faculty.
Throughout the video production process, we were inspired by the grassroots justice work HES engaged in. We hoped to communicate the enthusiasm, social justice focus, and determination of HES in the video.
While this video is still a work in process–we are still making revisions and getting feedback from Health Equity Solutions– we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with HES and learn more about their important work. We look forward to further exploring health equity in the future and following HES’ future initiatives.
